Snug and bulky

I usually can't wear wool because it's too itchy for my sensitive skin, but I have both the Dakota sweater and the Suki vest, which I can comfortably wear. This is because both sweaters are lined and the edges are also finished with a cotton bias tape, so no wool is touching my skin. Unfortunately, the Shannon sweater is not made this way, so I couldn't wear it. I didn't notice this detail in the photos, and it would be nice to have this information listed in the description. Also, the Shannon is a thick cable knit with an inner lining of fleece, plus two layers of fleece lining the pockets, which makes it very bulky in the stomach area, and this wasn't flattering for my shape. I will say that it is a well-made sweater that would be warm and cosy for the winter, and I loved the Aspen color. However, I ended up returning it at my own cost of $50.

Hi Lisa,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We do our best to provide accurate and helpful product descriptions, though it can sometimes be challenging to include every detail without turning it into a long list of technical features.

That said, you’re absolutely right — there’s a considerable difference between the two styles you mentioned. The Dakota is a cotton-lined jacket made from a single-ply wool, while the Shannon is a fully fleece-lined jacket, as noted in the description: “The Shannon jacket is a thick, cozy knit layer crafted from 100% wool...”

I understand that you hadn’t noticed the absence of cotton bias tape around the neckline, and I can see how that could make a difference for someone with sensitive skin. We did offer some alternatives when you returned the Shannon, and I’m glad to hear you’ve found options that work better for you.

Your feedback is truly appreciated — we’ll make sure to include more precise lining and finish details in our descriptions going forward.

Beautifully made & warm!! You won't regret it!

I purchased the skirt and knitted sweater with fleece interior and I must say I am soo happy I did! Love the skirt as it allows me to still wear thin yoga leggings in the winter while keeping my bum warm and the sweater is soo warm Ive been wearing it like a coat outside with only a tank top underneath! (-2 degree weather right now in Durham Region). It is super cozy & not itchy (bcs of the fleece lining). If you're holding back, don't, I wish I purchased these years ago!!

Thank you Lost Horizons for bringing these beautiful items to Canada. Thank you the ladies of Nepal for your skill and craftsmanship!
